We had such a great experience with Old Tyme Flooring. Scott, the owner, was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and easy to work with throughout the entire process.

We originally planned to refinish our old bamboo floors, but ultimately decided it made more sense to replace them with engineered hardwood. Scott met me at the showroom and helped me sort through samples and choose the right flooring for our home.

Cesar and Alberto spent about a week at our house doing the installation, and they were wonderful—professional, polite, meticulous, and respectful of our home. Their workmanship was excellent and the finished floors completely exceeded our expectations.

We had an excellent experience with Old Tyme Flooring from start to finish. Scott, the owner, was incredibly responsive, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process.

We originally thought we were going to refinish our existing floors, but ultimately decided they really needed to be replaced with engineered hardwood. 
Scott met me at the showroom and spent time helping me select samples and find the right flooring for our home.

Cesar and Alberto were at our house for about a week doing the installation, and they were wonderful--so polite, professional, and respectful of our home. Most importantly, their workmanship was outstanding. The finished floors exceeded our expectations and completely transformed the space.

Excellent Work

I was extremely impressed with the quality of the wood flooring services I received. Scott, and his crew were professional, friendly, and thorough from start to finish.

What really stood out to me was the preparation. They did an excellent job prepping the concrete floor and carefully repairing the cracks before installing the flooring. They also took the time to repair all of the necessary subflooring, making sure the foundation was properly prepared rather than simply covering up existing problems.

Scott also showed me how to properly care for and maintain my new floors, which I really appreciated. The attention to detail, quality of workmanship, and pride they take in their work were evident throughout the entire project.

The finished floors look beautiful and have completely transformed my home, especially the living room that was previously carpeted. The new wood flooring has given the room a completely fresh, warm, and updated look.

I am a licensed general contractor, so I am hard to please when it comes to trade work, and I hired Olde Tyme Floor Co. for my own house.

They installed about 1,800 square feet of custom hardwood in our home in Woodland Hills. I looked at a lot of flooring contractors before I picked them. What got my attention was that they have been doing this for more than 45 years, and Scott is the second generation running it. After one conversation with him I knew this was the company I wanted.

Scott knows his material. He walked us through the options in plain language and never oversold anything. His two installers have been with the family more than 20 years and it shows. They were professional, they took real pride in the work, and they showed up every day with a good attitude, which after some of the other trades we had been through was a relief.

The floors came out beautiful and they changed the whole feel of the house. Everyone who walks in says something about them.

Scott and his crew of men, including Ceasar did a seamless repair and rejuvenation of an older ipe  wood deck they were professional they were concise, and the deck looks the best it’s ever looked like a day hasn’t passed since it was installed. We highly recommend them. We had another estimate for 1/3 the price of old time, but we elected to go with old time because of the workmanship, the materials and the finished product from previous experiences we wish to thank them so very much and anybody who would think about using them to do refinishing or building wood deck we highly recommend

He checks in frequently, he is always available for questions and concerns and he makes sure you are going to be happy with the job being done. The entire crew takes pride in what they are doing and never cut corners or take the easy way out leaving you with problems down the road after they're gone. I found the pricing very reasonable, particularly with the service and quality that you get. I would highly recommend Olde Tyme Floor. Cesar and Alberto did a wonderful job in leveling and installing a laminate floor in a bedroom, hallway, two closets and living room floor. They are very focused during their working hours and did an excellent job. After using Olde Tyme Floor Co to level a challenging subfloor issue in our living room, we decided to also hire Scott to handle the tile installation. Scott is always responsive, frequently present at the job site, and willing to discuss and address issues that come up during a job. We’ve found him to be an honest contractor who takes pride in making sure the work is done well and to his customers’ satisfaction. In this job, for instance, he took the time to work with us to carefully plan the tile alignment across the room with us, and he later addressed concerns we had about the weight of the tile installation even though it meant having his team back out part of the installation to redo it in a way we felt more comfortable with. He is transparent about costs and we feel his price was more than reasonable for the quality of work and service he delivered. We recommend him without reservations.

Our living room required significant leveling before we could install new flooring - one end was a full 2" lower than the center of the room. We wanted to find someone with a good deal of experience in case structural work was needed, and Olde Tyme Floor Co turned up in our searches. Scott and his team live up to the high reviews - beyond executing the work at high quality, Scott was responsive, visited the job site frequently, and addressed every concern we had as the work moved forward. I can't recommend Scott and the team at Olde Tyme Floor Co. highly enough. I came to them after a bad experience with another contractor who simply didn't know how to properly handle my floor leveling and demo — it was a mess. Scott stepped in and saved the project completely.

His crew was outstanding: the tile installation was absolutely immaculate, and you could tell these guys genuinely know their craft. On top of the quality work, everyone was respectful, professional, and a pleasure to have in my home. The pricing was fair and honest throughout — no surprises.

They sanded our floors, re-finished the beveled edges, and then wire brushed by hand. I would have given 5 stars because the work was excellent, but there are busy and we had to wait a month. They say patience is a virtue, but after a fire, insurance battle we just wanted to get back in our home. We hired Olde Tyme Floor to install our floors after we were forced to replace the old ones after a flood.  At that time the entire first floor had to be re-done.  Scott’s team did a great job laying the floor. He was instrumental in helping us pick the right floor.  We have received only compliments.  Furthermore Scott served as construction manager on the project.  He handled dealing with the various vendors, making suggestions and ensuring the that work was completed early. We've worked with Scott and his team at Old Tyme Floors on 2 projects now: one project involved installing new hardwoods in a kitchen to "match" original 100 y/o hardwoods. OTF did an amazing job making the kitchen blend seamlessly into the rest of the house. For that project, I got several quotes and Scott/OTF were the most professional and best price.

We then had the OTF team completely re-do the entire 2nd floor of our new home. The floors look incredible, and the team did a great job working about the other trades I had in/out of the house while they were completing the project. Scott is very thoughtful about his work and wants to make sure clients understand every step of the process (hardwood flooring install / refinishing is a PROCESS!). For this project, we got 2 quotes and, again, Scott/OTF was the best.

I bought a house in 2011 in Los angeles, and wanted to install new hardwood flooring and have it stained and finished. I looked at several hardwood flooring contractors reviews, when I found Old Tyme floor, I was very impressed that they have been in business for 45 years. I felt comfort in the fact that they have been around so long. After having Scott, the owner come out to my house to measure the areas, he spent a long time explaining the process, timelines and set the expectations. I can 100% say now, that everything Scott explained to me was right on point. His men are extremely, courteous and clean.
